Who's the baddest of them all?

Hello there!
So, today while driving to and from my post surgery appointment the song "Counting Stars" by OneRepublic came on the radio and while listening I remembered the song my sister had introduced me to, the parody "Counting Scars" by the Disney Villains.
If you have never seen it, here it is:

Nice huh?
Catchy tune.
Catchy words.
I enjoy it.

However, ever since the first time Megan showed it to me, I've had a problem with it.
Is Scar really the "baddest" Disney Villains there is? I don't think so.

Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you:

oh! ouch!

I believe Gaston from "Beauty and the Beast" is the scariest Disney Villain there is, here's why:

He is liked by everyone.

He's selfish.

He's prideful.
(And he acts on both his pride and his lust.)

He is EXTREMELY vain.
(♪you're so vain, you probably think Belle should like you, YOU'RE SO VAIN! ♪)

He is "totally prime-evil"

He's an idiot, and he is STILL liked by everyone.

People follow him. Now, people follow Scar too, BUT the difference is that when Scar loses, when his followers see that he is wrong, they turn on him.
Gaston is different when Belle shows her father isn't crazy, that The Beast is real, they aren't like "Gaston! Give it up! They were right! Let's go back and eat the same old bread and rolls that we always do."

Nope.

Instead, they keep following him, proving that "50 french-men [CAN] be wrong."
Isn't that terrifying? Even though he's wrong they keep following him. Yikes! *shutter* That is why I think Gaston is the baddest of them all, he has no powers, he has no kingdoms, he is a man. But he is the complete "natural man" and that is why he is so scary.

Granted everyone has their opinion, but this is why I have a blog, to state mine, but if anyone has any thoughts feel free to share.

Pin-Mania

So for those of you who might not know I have been out of commission this past week recovering from back surgery.
So since I have to either be standing or laying down for most of the time I have been enjoying  watching movies, having Sarah read books to me (it's just more fun that way,) and well... pinning, you know...on Pinterest.
I have decided that I enjoy it way to much, I probably have about 4 people's weddings planned (not mine though, that won't be happening anytime soon,) I have about 1,000 recipes that I will most likely never make, and loads of places that I would love to visit but by no means will I ever get there.
On the other hand, I now have many more jokes to laugh at, secrets to Disney, and a fair number of "hacks" to use for my life.
Brilliant huh?
I suppose it does have an upside...if any of you need a wedding planner, I've got the whole thing in my plam.

when you wish upon a star

"Anything your heart desires, will come to you."

6 days, only six!!!
Choir Tour is less than a week away and I am dying from waiting.

Oh how much I need to be in Disneyland and just have some simply
splendid moments like:

Seeing the Daper Dans sing
Going to Fantasmic
Spending non-stop days with my closest friends
Seeing World of Color
Rocking the Music in the Parks Festival again (hopefully)
Just feeling like a little kid and feeling though anything is possible.
Having something absolutely magical happen.

I need some childhood magic in my life. I'm craving it.
how can you say this place isn't magical? it totally is(:

is it obvious that I'm excited?

milestone of Chamber Choir

I remember Sophomore year when I was kidnapped for the Chamber breakfast.
I remember the thrill of last year being with some of the greatest kids I knew. My second family.
I remember kidnapping last year's recruits and how excited I was to get to be in Chamber with so many of my friends.
I remember the adventures we've had this year.

and then this morning we kidnapped next years group. and the sadness hit. no Chamber Choir for me next year. the adventure is almost over. I want to cry.

beauty and the beast

so remember this post?
well it just so happens that I will be preforming the part of "Egg Lady" these coming weeks.
you should probably come see it.

if you do you will see:
my hair bigger than it has probably ever been, a giant, yellow dress, a hideous beast, a magical rose, etc.... and an all around wonderful cast, pit, and tech crew.

now I know I am a bit bias...(okay maybe really bias).... but believe me this is not a show you want to miss. Pleasant Grove High School does a PHENOMENAL job on all of the productions presented there.
 You will be amazed.
So come! Enjoy a night full of: romance, adventure, enchanted objects, GREAT songs, and good, family fun (: Come "be our guest!" You'll be glad you did.

so here's the deal...

 Choir Tour next year...
Choir Council would like to know opinions
of those planning on going on Tour next year.

Here are the options:

San Francisco, California:

We would get to walk the Golden Gate Bridge

See Alcatraz

Go to Six Flags

And go on a Dinner Cruise around the Bay

Washington DC:
(has pretty much been voted out because of price
but if you're interested here's what we'd do)

Go to the Museum Mall

Sing at the Lincoln Memorial

Sing at the Capitol Building

See a play at Ford's Theater
(where Lincoln was shot for those who don't know history)

See the Holocaust Memorial

It'd really be a cool trip, but we want to involve as many members as possible

Anaheim, California:

Stop in San Diego for one day and go to Sea World:

or instead of Sea World...

 Universal Studios for a day

Disneyland for two full days
it's pretty much required in Anaheim

Dinner Near the Beach

Vegas for Buffet Lunch on the way home
(Probably at Rio)

Prices:
We only have really, really rough prices:
Anaheim and San Fransisco are about the same as this year $650ish
 DC would be around $1000-$1500

Let me, or any other Choir Council member, know what you think!

I want

I know it sounds a bit selfish...
okay really selfish, and I try not to be...
sometimes you just want things to go your way, right?

this song has been running thru my head all day:
kind of where I got the idea for this blog post...

As for me I want lots of things to happen.

I want:
to be at EFY right now.

(EFY 2 years ago)
I miss it and seeing everyone's pictures of it makes me want to go even more.
(only have to wait another week!)

I want:
Camp Williams to email me back so I don't have to stress anymore about  the A Capella retreat
and so Wilcock won't kill me.

I want:
to make these
(Reese's Krispies)
mmmm peanut butter and chocolate.

I want:
My sister to wake up so I can have something to do for the next few hours...

I want:
To be in some sort of Disney area...
namely Disney World
I'm in need of some magic in my life(:

And last
I want:
I want to teach everyone in Utah to drive because I feel that whenever the weather gets warmer Utah drivers seem to be more stupid and they need to be taught how to drive again.
(yeah this is how driving has been for me the past week or so)

the power of music

Let's talk music, shall we?
For those who know me, you know I love music.
For those who don't... you know now.

Music is my life.
Really though.
There is never a moment that some song is not in my head.
It can switch my attitude about life within seconds
sad to happy
mad to motivated
it's insane how much music can do!

So I just thought I'd show you what power music does hold on everyone.
(p.s. most of these are show tunes but even for those who don't like them they work really well)

Songs that....

Make Me Laugh:
"Me"-Beauty and the Beast
(he's just so cocky!)
"Make 'Em Laugh"- Singin' In The Rain
"She's In Love" -The Little Mermaid
"I Know It's Today"- Shrek The Musical

Make Me Cry:
"Close Every Door To Me"- Joseph
(sorry for the starting picture.. mom.)
"Home" -Beauty and the Beast

(there were no good stage recordings, but this is just as good!)
Give Me Hope:
"One Day More"- Les Miserables
(I wanted the 10th Anniversary, but oh well)
"Hold On"- Secret Garden
"No One Is Alone"- Into The Woods

Make Me Love, Love:
"Someone Like You"- Jekyll and Hyde
"Beauty and The Beast"- Beauty and the Beast
(I guess no one has good stage recordings of any songs from this)
"Those Magic Changes"- Grease
(this was the best recording I could find...)

Inspire Me:
"Into the Fire"- The Scarlet Pimpernel
"Seize the Day" - Newsies
and last but certainly not least...
"Do You Hear The People Sing"- Les Miserables
oh my. I love it!

Don't you feel like you've just been on an emotional roller coaster?
And with that last song I bet you can now go out and conquer the world!

As you can see I love music! (and show tunes...)
And this will probably be one of my favorite posts for a long time
since all my favorite songs are on it.(:

til next time!

The Happiest Kids On Earth

You see this face?

This is the face of a girl who did not want to be at school today.
Why's that you might ask...
Probably because she wanted to be in Disneyland playing with the coolest kids in town.

As you all well know I went on Choir Tour this past week to "The Happiest Place on Earth"
And even with the daily sunburns and my lovely bruise it was one of the most amazing weeks(:

Let's start at the beginning:
We headed off from PG on Tuesday night.
The bus ride was long and tiring, especially since I have trouble sleeping in buses and not to mention Bus 1 broke down in the very early morning allowing 23 more people on each bus but hey it's not like we were going to get anymore sleep anyway.

First Day in DiSnEyLaNd
Oh my it was the best!
I got to spend time with my friends from all the choirs (since I had to perform last)
Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Making Wishes, Pineapple Soft Serve, the whole enchilada!

(we wish for Peeta)
Then listening to A Capella?
So Good.
I love them

Remember how I love my friends?

Pretty sure I hung out with these kiddos most of the trip.

Thursday:
California Adventures for most of the day.
Well let's just say I'm a klutz.
And an idiotic one at that.
Good thing my friends are so kind to me even when I horribly fail at jumping over chains.
Look at that thing... gorgeous huh?

Dinner Cruise?
Oh my, so amazingly fun.
good food, the ocean, dance parties, and not to mention Prom asking and answering!
It was an adventurous day.

Friday:
Workshops and Festival.
The most AMAZING Festival.
All of our choirs sounded spectacular, and not just from PG (even though I'm a bit bias.)
Other Utah schools AF and Orem did SO GOOD.
I live in such a talented state!

Saturday:
All day in the parks?
I think yes.

And the awards ceremony?
I was shaking.
Two 100's from the judges?
Yes.
First time it's happened in Disneyland?
Yes.
Swept the board?
Triple Yes
Chamber got first, A Capella got 3rd (they competed against two Chamber choirs and they were only a point away from first, and Advanced Women's got 1st)
Oh and Best Overall Choir?
Yes.
That is why we're "The Happiest Kids on Earth" as the title clearly states.

It was the greatest night of my life, I don't think I have ever been so happy as I was at that moment with some of my closest friends.

Sunday:
Longest bus ride ever.
But super fun.

Well until next year... See ya real soon Disneyland!

T minus 27 (hours) ish

Sorry to all of you who are jealous about not going to Choir Tour.
I just can't hold in my excitement!
I feel like this

Yes, I feel like a little kid every time I even think about it!
It's in one day.
One day!

Soon I'll be hanging with some of the coolest kids in the school at "The Happiest Place on Earth"

I will post back next Monday with my magical adventures and any more gloating moments I might have.
