Week of Tears

It's really kind of hard to see high school come to a close for me. 

The people I've met and the experiences I've had have changed me so much.

Especially the people and experiences from choir.

PG Choir has changed my life and having our last Choir Concert on Wednesday

threw me into a crying funk. Really, I probably started crying seven times that night.

The next morning in Chamber Choir same thing happened. 

Singing: "God Be With You Til We Meet Again" is not the best idea when it comes with

a group of your best friends. 

I really will always be grateful that I was part of PGHS Choirs.

Then in Young Women's yesterday I cried realizing it was my last Young Women's 

ever with my ward. It is so hard to say goodbye to them, they have been some of

my greatest supporters. I love them.

And this week will probably be the same. Lot's of crying. But I won't say goodbye.

I won't. 

Because everyone I know will always be a part of me.

milestone of Chamber Choir

I remember Sophomore year when I was kidnapped for the Chamber breakfast.
I remember the thrill of last year being with some of the greatest kids I knew. My second family.
I remember kidnapping last year's recruits and how excited I was to get to be in Chamber with so many of my friends.
I remember the adventures we've had this year.

and then this morning we kidnapped next years group. and the sadness hit. no Chamber Choir for me next year. the adventure is almost over. I want to cry.

Christmas time is here

(yay for "A Charlie Brown Christmas")

What a wonderful time of the year! Christmas used to be my favorite Holiday because of the commercial stuff (which I think it is for most children) but luckily I have fantastic leaders and parents who have helped me gain a testimony of the true meaning of the season.
Giving to those around us, but most importantly: Receiving. Receiving Christ as our Savior and accepting His gift of the Atonement in our lives.
But although I love the meaning of Christmas, I also love the things about it: the lights, the snow, and the carols.
One of my favorite things about being in Choir is that I get to start singing Christmas music in October. However I love it even more when it is December and our songs don't just sound like notes.
I would want to post some of the recordings of us on here just so you could hear how wonderful our songs are, how touching and amazing they are.

Instead I will just tell you.
They are touching and amazing.

This week Chamber Choir had the opportunity  to preform in different venues at Temple Square and I decided there is no better place to sing about/celebrate the Savior's birth. Ever. ...well maybe if we went to Bethlehem  but that's besides the point...

If any of you want to see how we celebrate the season--and you should--our concerts are the 17th (6pm and 8pm) and 18th (7pm) if you desire tickets please let me know ASAP and I will try to get some for you!

 Choir Tour next year...

 Choir Council would like to know opinions 

of those planning on going on Tour next year.

Here are the options:

San Francisco, California:

We would get to walk the Golden Gate Bridge

See Alcatraz

Go to Six Flags

And go on a Dinner Cruise around the Bay 

Washington DC:

(has pretty much been voted out because of price

 but if you're interested here's what we'd do)

Go to the Museum Mall

Sing at the Lincoln Memorial

Sing at the Capitol Building

See a play at Ford's Theater

(where Lincoln was shot for those who don't know history)

See the Holocaust Memorial

It'd really be a cool trip, but we want to involve as many members as possible

Anaheim, California:

Stop in San Diego for one day and go to Sea World:

or instead of Sea World...

 Universal Studios for a day

Disneyland for two full days

it's pretty much required in Anaheim

Dinner Near the Beach

Vegas for Buffet Lunch on the way home
(Probably at Rio)

Prices:
We only have really, really rough prices:
 Anaheim and San Fransisco are about the same as this year $650ish
 DC would be around $1000-$1500

I want

I know it sounds a bit selfish...

okay really selfish, and I try not to be...

sometimes you just want things to go your way, right?

As for me I want lots of things to happen.

I want:

 to be at EFY right now.

(EFY 2 years ago)

I miss it and seeing everyone's pictures of it makes me want to go even more.

(only have to wait another week!)

I want:

Camp Williams to email me back so I don't have to stress anymore about  the A Capella retreat

and so Wilcock won't kill me.

I want:

to make these

My sister to wake up so I can have something to do for the next few hours...

To be in some sort of Disney area...

I want to teach everyone in Utah to drive because I feel that whenever the weather gets warmer Utah drivers seem to be more stupid and they need to be taught how to drive again.

(yeah this is how driving has been for me the past week or so)

this was the last week of my Junior Year at PGHS.

finally.

now don't get me wrong I love PG really I do, there isn't a better high school in the world!

Junior Year though... wow.
Crazy amounts of work and lots of drama.
Yikes.

However, there are somethings and some people I will miss dearly:

1) Student Council:

I seriously could go to these two for anything.

He will be great at Cyprus.

My name is now an acronym ...

 2) My Dear Wonderful Seniors:

some of the greatest people I've ever met will be leaving me! during graduation yesterday I about died as my best friend Rachel Peay walked by, what am I supposed to do when she's gone?

3) 2011-2012 Chamber Choir:

So first before I say my sad piece for this I'm totally psyched for next year's Chamber!

We had our first meeting today and I believe that next year will be rockin'.

Now sad time.

Look at us:

We were amazing!

We all got remarkably close and they were my second family.

They will all go on to do magnificent things in the world.

4) The wonderful times I've had this year:

From start to finish this year has been packed full of excitement.

From the Tail Gate Party Rain In to Angel Tree to Kissing Programs!

It's hard to think that anything could compare to this year and probably nothing will, but next year will be full of wonderful new times as well :)

Graduation was fun though, I got to wear a choir robe for the first time!

I enjoyed every second wearing it.

The Happiest Kids On Earth

You see this face?

This is the face of a girl who did not want to be at school today.

Why's that you might ask...

Probably because she wanted to be in Disneyland playing with the coolest kids in town.

As you all well know I went on Choir Tour this past week to "The Happiest Place on Earth"

And even with the daily sunburns and my lovely bruise it was one of the most amazing weeks(:

Let's start at the beginning:

We headed off from PG on Tuesday night.

The bus ride was long and tiring, especially since I have trouble sleeping in buses and not to mention Bus 1 broke down in the very early morning allowing 23 more people on each bus but hey it's not like we were going to get anymore sleep anyway.

First Day in DiSnEyLaNd

Oh my it was the best!

I got to spend time with my friends from all the choirs (since I had to perform last)

Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Making Wishes, Pineapple Soft Serve, the whole enchilada! 

(we wish for Peeta)

Then listening to A Capella?

So Good.

I love them

Remember how I love my friends?

Pretty sure I hung out with these kiddos most of the trip.

Thursday:

California Adventures for most of the day.

Well let's just say I'm a klutz.

And an idiotic one at that.

Good thing my friends are so kind to me even when I horribly fail at jumping over chains.

Look at that thing... gorgeous huh?

Dinner Cruise?

Oh my, so amazingly fun.

good food, the ocean, dance parties, and not to mention Prom asking and answering!

It was an adventurous day.

Friday:

Workshops and Festival.

The most AMAZING Festival.

All of our choirs sounded spectacular, and not just from PG (even though I'm a bit bias.)

Other Utah schools AF and Orem did SO GOOD. 

I live in such a talented state!

Saturday:

All day in the parks?

I think yes.

And the awards ceremony?

I was shaking.

Two 100's from the judges?

Yes.

First time it's happened in Disneyland?

Yes.

Swept the board?

Triple Yes

Chamber got first, A Capella got 3rd (they competed against two Chamber choirs and they were only a point away from first, and Advanced Women's got 1st)

Oh and Best Overall Choir?

Yes.

That is why we're "The Happiest Kids on Earth" as the title clearly states.

It was the greatest night of my life, I don't think I have ever been so happy as I was at that moment with some of my closest friends.

Sunday:

Longest bus ride ever. 

But super fun.
