Cuz we'll always be cougars

Okay, okay, I'm sure half the world has already seen all of these videos, but in light that ROC passes went on sell today and I'll be heading back to BYU (and BYU sporting events) in like three weeks (!!!!!) I have decided to share these uplifting Divine Comedy Music Videos:

Fail:

Good:

and last of all (of those I wanted to post...) Cougars:

I may or may not be completely and utterly excited to return to Provo.
Okay you got me. I am BEYOND excited. At this point on instagram I would use #hashtags... and if I did it would look like this:

#byu
#immacougar
#iamsoexcitedtogobackilovebyusomuch
#butimkindascaredofschoolsinceivemisseditforabout2yearsnow

When I collect my ROC pass in these next few days there will be photos of me being overwhelmed with joy. Be prepared.

sacrifice brings forth the blessings of Heaven....

hello lovelies.

well if you didn't know I'm back to the blog-o-sphere.

So funny story for the day...aka: why Katy should ALWAYS double check no, no ,no TRIPLE CHECK things.
We had plans to go the the new play at BYU based of Shannon Hale's "Princess Academy" called, "Princess Academy" (shocker.)

and you know I am all psyched up and ready to spend time with my favorite girls (my sisters of course) and everything was just jolly until....

until we are driving towards Provo Canyon and I decide to check the tickets one more time,

Me: "Uh, what day is today?"

Megan: "Friday"

Me: "No, like date."

Megan "the 5th."

oops.

We actually had tickets for NEXT friday... good thing we noticed right then, anyways we still headed down to campus to meet up with our lovely friend Sharissa and she being so understanding still loves me, and we decided to go to the Art Museum instead, and BOY am I glad we went there was a neat exhibit about the early Pioneer Saints by C.C.A Christensen that I grew to love in an instant.

Look at these:

(all of these pictures come from pinterest and wikipedia)

so maybe it doesn't look like much just these few, but the exhibit was gor.ge.ous a story-line of the Early Saints, their trials, their suffering, every sacrifice they passed through. Isn't it glorious?
there was a lovely quote by Jospeh F. Smith that I wish to share:

"This is no day for trembling or fear; it is not a day for doubt or misgiving; God has demonstrated His power and superior wisdom in so many ways and at so many times, during the history of this people, in delivering them from the grasp of their enemies, that for us now to doubt Him...would be an indignity to our Great Preserver, an insult to God."

Wow. Read it again. Do it, take it in.

ISN'T THAT GREAT?!?!?
God has always shown His power to us to deliver His people. He loves us and through our sacrifices He gives us the blessings we need, we need not doubt or fear.

I'm grateful for silly mistakes, even though "Princess Academy" would've been awesome, going down to BYU for a different purpose might just have been the right one.

Spring Break is finally here and it's a good thing too, because I've needed it.
My Senoritis has kicked in fully and I think if I didn't have the break I would explode.
Time to lay back, relax, and enjoy Spring the right way.

happiness

is when you take a break from your English Paper (or anything in life) to watch this:

**oh goodness this brings me joy**

and yes I know I already posted one of these but
Young Men + this song (as long as it has some cute purpose) = happiness

note: really the Young Men who do this for the Young Women in their Stake make me swoon. A lot.

It's True isn't it? Then What Else Matters?

I already posted this on Facebook, but posting it two places never hurt a fly.

This truly is absolutely amazing:

Oh I love it so much! The Church is true, I know it with all of my heart. There is nothing that brings me more happiness and pure joy than it. And I hope one day I will be able to share this message with my brothers and sisters so they too can feel of that joy. I will do EVERYTHING so that I can have that opportunity.

when you wish upon a wishbone

Wishbones take wishing to a whole other level. Like Wish Cookies or Candles.
Stars and 11:11 come every day.
Wishbones are an annual thing, and the wish only happens if you  win the tug.
Guess what I won. I so badly hope my wish will happen.

what a week

so many wonderful things occurred:
Went to "Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure" (twice!) , played basketball with my old team, had an actually conversation with a certain young man, ate a brownie, cleaned my room, got an A- on my Chemistry test, oh. and got to see this girl:

while watching these guys:

Don't worry I'm in a good mood(:

let it snow

I'm not a skier or snowboarder, I'm just a "White Christmas" fanatic.
When it started flurrying outside my English class yesterday I was bubbling.
I got home and listened to 106.5 the whole time while on the computer.
On the way to a friend's house last night I had a snowball fight with someone before I knew who they were.
This afternoon I enjoyed snow angels, and sledding in my yard with my brother.
(cheesy picture of my boots. it's a must.)

(inspirational picture. another must.)

did some good

do you like it when you get recognized for being you?
It just makes me smile.
Story: I'm Choir President so I am supposed to help out in choir. We had a sub on Friday and our Chamber Rep. was doing her job and people were being a bit difficult so I just told them to be respectful.
So yesterday I am called down to the office and guess what? I got a Key Card for doing my job.
It was a good day.

And today. I did my duty as a citizen.
That's right. I voted.

(so did she.)

(and just so you know people clap for you
if you are a first time voter... awkward? yes. but fun.)

(so did Melanie, and Cassie... kind of did. ;] )

It feels good to do good(:

♪ oh how I love those Mormon boys ♪

I most definitely love each of these young men.

Thank you Grantsville West Stake for having such amazing young men.

If any of you come to Lindon anytime soon I wouldn't say "no" to a date.

Seriously though, this brightened my day.
I hope whoever is reading this has a happier day now too.

Another happy thought: Isn't it so wonderful how many Young Men are getting their mission papers ready now? At church on Sunday all my friends who graduated last year came to get their Bishop interviews and then a large group of my friends (boys and girls) have been posting on Facebook about it. It just makes me ...how did Elder Holland say it? ..."I'm bordering on the giddy." Oh goodness it is just so amazing!

happy tuesday!

what do you do in the s-autumn time?

so here's the thing... my summer has been pretty much taken up by this massive, amazing, totally new experience of a play. (Community Theater is a completely different thing than school plays I discovered)
Annnnyway... Although I went to girl's camp, EFY, and Trek it hasn't really felt like summer to me; no matter how many shaved ice shacks I go to or how many times I went to the pool.
With so many of my friends working it's sort of just been "meh."

Until this week. Now it actually feels like summer to me. (took it long enough. since, oh you know, school starts in a week.)

why has summer finally hit me?
-laying in grass
-chalking sidewalks
-swinging
-singing show tunes
and
-having absolutely no sense of time whatsoever.

best possible way to spend my day? ooohhh yes(:
IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!!!
(thanks Macey for hanging out with me)

But as I said earlier, summer is almost over and soon it will be Autumn (which is my favorite season) but with my favorite things starting,
-high school football
-jumping in leafs
and
-college football
it has kind of showed me how little of a summer I've really had.
and now a large chunk of my friends are off to college.
like her...

Sad isn't it.

a few of my favorite things

okay maybe not "a few"...
more like quite a bit.

this week  i have been overly blessed with many
wonderful things that i love more than
"brown paper packages tied up with strings."

These are some of MY favorite things:
(sing to tune of "My Favorite Things")

swimming and jump-rope while blasting some music,
pretzels and snow-cones, and treats made of Reeses',
 Summer-nary and feeling The Spirit,
Morning Temple trips with some great friends,
sometimes I wish summer never would end!

(ba ba, ba ba)
cute lil' cousins  to play day and night with,
emails from schools I might apply to,
play practice, dreaming, the smell of rain,
these are a few of my favorite things!

(probably needs a few more verses..
and a chorus... it's a work in progress)

also not included in my wonderful song is that I got to watch "Star Dust"

umm love that movie? oooh most definitely.

and mi familia? yeah we're crazy... really.
but they bring me the most happiness out
of everyone I know .

anyway: this week as been amazing so far.

road trip. Armknecht style.

This past week some of my family and I went on a road trip to Lawrence, Kansas.
(now hurry and throw in your "I don't think you're in Kansas anymore" jokes)
Here's an account of my many adventures:

On the Road/ Parker, Colorado:

First off if you ever road with my family you will learn we listen to two kinds of music, no not Country and Western. Broadway/Disney and Oldies.
Namely:

Also sometimes my cousin and I go on walks and we stalk...
Animals.
Now I'm going to teach you a few tricks of the trade for hunting animals:
While hunting a bunny you must be extremely quite, move in a zig-zag motion (if you don't the bunny will notice you I promise,) once you are within 5 feet of the bunny dive for it (I didn't do that but I'm sure if I had I would've caught it)
Next Coyotes: I didn't actually see one... but the path we were taking said it was coyote area so I was on guard just in case I had to take one down.)
Last of all deer; they're a tuff'un. Once you spot the deer crossing the street you must be completely silent. Walk slowly to the yard of which it's staying, always on your toes. If the deer puts up a front leg it probably means it's not in a good mood. However, if you begin singing songs you learned from Disney movies it most likely will let you be.

Also on walks it is important you have the proper protection from cars that keep on going in circles around you so use a spare key and a gummy worm.

On the Road to Lawrence:

With the sun rising over the horizon how could this not be one of the greatest trips?

So now it's time for you to know what I learn from movies we watch on or rides:
Such as:
love this movie

I love young men who can dress well.. a lot

(sorry for the poor quality it's hard to get good pictures of people dancing)
mmm if they can pull off suspenders and can sing they might hold part of my heart.

Lawrence/Kansas City

Culver's, daily walks with Janae, and card games. What could be better?
I would say nothing but that'd be a lie.
Going to the Kansas City Missouri Temple was the highlight of my trip.
isn't it beautiful?

so happy

Basically I love temples.

Heading Home:

Got up at 3:30 Utah time to drive 17 hours to my house.
Even with getting up that early I enjoy drives.
the sun rising behind us.

But, even with the joys of trips there really is no place like home.
